Travel documents
Before traveling you should check if you have the documents necessary for your trip.
As of July 19, 2013, with the entering into force of EU Regulation 610/2013, the conditions for the fulfillment of the EU (European) passport requirements have changed.
Thus, a third country national fulfills the passport obligation under Article 5, § 1 a) SGK, if in possession of a recognized passport or passport substitute paper that meets the following two conditions in the immigration control:
-
Minimum validity of the document of 3 months at the time of the intended departure. (Emergency regulations are permissible)
-
The document must have been issued within the past 10 years.
The non-fulfillment of Article 5 § 1 a) may result in rejection of the external border.
