AT OHRID AIRPORT: TAV WELCOMED THE 1ST NORDICA FLIGHT FROM TALLINN

Forty five minutes after midnight, water canon saluted the first arriving flight from Tallinn at Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport. After the successfully negotiated cooperation between TAV Airports and Nordica, Estonia’s national airline today launched the first seasonal flight on the route Tallinn – Ohrid – Tallinn.

Passengers of the ninety-seat Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft were warmly welcomed with colorful cupcakes as they disembarked for their new travel experience in Ohrid.

As of today, 2nd June, until September 15th, the new seasonal route Tallinn – Ohrid – Tallinn will be operated every Saturday. The arrival time at Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport from Tallinn shall be 00:45 hrs, to depart back to Tallinn at 01:20 hrs.

-We are happy and it is our pleasure to welcome the announced new route operated by Estonian Nordica at Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport. Being the fifth new destination introduced at Ohrid Airport within the past two years, Tallinn, as a new incoming passenger market, would bring many benefits not only for the airport, but also for the entire tourism sector in Ohrid and in our country in general. Thanks to TAV Airports Marketing Department, now we are expecting more than 2.500 passengers from Estonian capital to visit Macedonia’s pearl, Ohrid and Ohrid Lake, to enrich their travel experience and to spread the word for the natural beauties and for the hospitality of Macedonia and Macedonians, stated Alper Ersoy, TAV Macedonia General Manager.

Tickets for the 3 hours flight Tallinn – Ohrid – Tallinn are already on sale since 26th September 2017, at Nordica web page https://www.nordica.ee/ with prices starting from EUR 99.90.

Nordica is promoting Ohrid among Estonians as the most popular holiday resort of Macedonia, a beautiful and romantic city, very rich in architecture, with magnificent landscape views, reminding their passengers that it is one of the oldest cities in Europe, protected by UNESCO World Heritage List.

Sven Kukemelk, the Executive Director Business Development in Nordica stated: “It is a great day for Nordica to start first ever direct route between Estonia and Macedonia! Ohrid is so important for so many reasons for us: our southernmost destination, first summer seasonal route not next to the sea and first ever route. We have great hopes for this route and looking forward to bringing a lot of Estonians to Macedonia and would like to invite at the same time all the Macedonians to enjoy Estonian hospitability.”

According to Nordica’s officials, airline’s summer routes are very popular and during the past summer season the airline served more than 25.000 passengers on its seasonal flights to Nice, Split, Rijeka and Odessa.

Estonian flag carrier Nordica is the biggest carrier in Estonia with the largest number of direct flights from Tallinn to different European destinations. In cooperation with partner airlines, Nordica offers connecting flights to more than 140 destinations in the world.
