2025/2026 New Year Message from TAV Macedonia General Manager, Nejat Kurt

2025/2026 New Year Message from TAV Macedonia General Manager, Nejat Kurt

As we come to the end of 2025, it is a moment to reflect and to say thank you.

This year has been an important one for aviation and tourism in North Macedonia.

Through the combined efforts of our airport teams, airline partners, institutions, and government counterparts, we achieved strong, stable growth, while maintaining safety, reliability, and European operational standards.

In 2025, our two airports together served 3,4 million passengers, representing 9% growth compared to 2024, with 54 destinations and 18 airlines partners connecting North Macedonia to Europe and beyond.

These numbers are not just statistics, they reflect trust in our country as a place to visit, to invest in, and to return to.

None of this would have been possible without our airport staff.

From operations and security to ground handling, maintenance, commercial, and administration, your professionalism, resilience, and commitment ensured that every passenger experience began safely and reliably. Airports operate 24 hours a day, often under pressure, and your work is the foundation of everything we achieve.

I would also like to thank our airline partners and stakeholders for their continued cooperation and confidence. Sustainable connectivity is built through partnership, transparency, and long-term thinking, and 2025 strengthened that foundation.
Equally, I would like to express appreciation to the Government of North Macedonia, the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority, and all state institutions we work with. Airports are national infrastructures, and progress is only possible when institutions move forward together.

Throughout 2025, we continued to develop a balanced tourism and connectivity model, built around our two complementary airports.

Skopje International Airport remains the country’s gateway to discovery, supporting year-round travel for business, diaspora, culture, and regional exploration.

Ohrid Airport continues to serve as a destination gateway, offering direct access to one of Europe’s most unique UNESCO heritage and leisure destinations, while respecting sustainability and seasonality.

This approach allows tourism to grow without compromising quality, and connectivity to expand without distorting the market.

As we look ahead to 2026, our direction is clear.

The coming year will focus on:

•    Strengthening year-round connectivity
•    Adding more destinations adding Operational growth
•    Supporting sustainable tourism growth
•    Enhancing operational reliability and passenger experience
•    Continuing alignment with European aviation standards
•    Building resilience for the future of air transport

Our goal is not growth for its own sake, but responsible, long-term value for passengers, partners, and the country.

Thank you for an incredible 2025.

We look forward to continuing this journey together in 2026.

Happy New Year.
