TAV Airports: Both Macedonian airports served almost 2 million passengers in just half a year
Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul The Apostle Airport continued to strong passenger traffic growth in the first half of 2026
In the period from January to June, both Macedonian airports operated under concession by TAV Macedonia, a subsidiary of TAV Airports and a member of Groupe ADP, served a total of 1,955,648 passengers, representing 28% increase compared to the same period last year.
During the same period, 13,167 flights were operated from the two airports, or 7.6% more compared to the first six months of 2025.
In June alone, Skopje and Ohrid airports had 15.6% more passengers (374,714) compared to the same period in 2025.
“The 28% growth in passenger numbers during the first six months of 2026 is an outstanding result and a clear confirmation that Macedonian airports are on a path of strong and sustainable development. In the aviation industry, double-digit growth in passenger traffic is an indicator of a successful strategy, increased passenger confidence, and attractiveness as destinations for airlines.

TAV Macedonia’s half-year statistical data show that in the first six months of the year the most frequented destination from Skopje International Airport was Istanbul (both IGA Airport and Sabiha Gokcen Airport, with a 14.2% market share), followed by Memmingen (4.5%), Basel-Mulhouse (4.4%), Dortmund (4.1%), Zurich (4.0%) and Frankfurt (3.9%).
The top five countries with the highest number of direct flights from Skopje are Germany (28.5% share of total passenger traffic), Türkiye (18%), Switzerland (9.3%), Italy (8.2%) and Sweden (5.8%).
If the figures for Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul The Apostle Airport are considered separately, Skopje Airport has a high annual growth of 28.6% and in the first six months of this year a total of 1,833,010 passengers were transported through it.
During the same period, 12,260 flights were operated at the airport, which is 6.5% more compared to the same period last year.
While Ohrid Airport recorded a double-digit increase of a high 18.2% with 122,638 transported from January to June. In this period, 907 flights were realized, which is an increase of 26%.
