TAV Airports: Skopje Airport welcomed the first flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport operated by AJet



The first flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport, operated by AJet, arrived at Skopje International Airport 

 
Skopje International Airport, today, July 13th, at 13:00h, welcomed the passengers on board the first flight operated by AJet, a Turkish low-cost airline, and a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, operating domestic flights and international flights to Northern Cyprus, Western Europe, and Western Asia from its base at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. 

The commencement of this new regular, or year-round route from Skopje International Airport connecting Skopje to Istanbul, operated by AJet, is a significant milestone in AJet’s expansion strategy, after taking over and launching operations from Skopje Airport to Bodrum and Antalya, in June, thus strengthening the connectivity between Turkiye and North Macedonia. Moreover, this new flight option enhances the travel opportunities between Skopje and Istanbul.

Travelers from Skopje will now have one more option and opportunity to visit Istanbul, the vibrant metropolis straddling two continents, Europe and Asia, divided by the Bosphorus Strait, and, Skopje will be happy to welcome guests from Turkiye, and offer visitors a journey rich in history and past while experiencing its evolving present.

AJet will operate regular flights from Skopje Airport with 4 weekly frequencies, or every Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Departure time from Sabiha Gokcen Airport is at 11:30h and arrival time to Skopje Airport at 13:00h, while departure time from Skopje Airport is 14:00h and arrival time to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport at 15:30h. TAV Macedonia, a subsidiary of TAV Airports, a member of Groupe ADP, finished the first half of 2024, or the period between January–June with a total of 1,458,299 passengers at both Macedonian airports – Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport, which is a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2023. In terms of the number of flights, there were 11,843 flights for the 6 months of 2024 or 15% more flights than in 2023.
