TAV Macedonia and Wizz Air announce: From July, direct flights from Skopje Airport to the attractive destinations Palermo and Alghero in Italy
Flight tickets for these two new destinations – Alghero (Sardinia) and Palermo (Sicilia) – are on sales already on Wizz Air website. For reservations and booking, please check airline’s website
From July 15, the air route from Skopje to Palermo will start and Wizz Air will operate it three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with fares available from 29.99 €. As of July 18, Skopje - Alghero route will start and it will be operated twice a week, every Tuesday and Saturday, with fares available from 39.99 €. With the launch of these two new routes, Wizz Air reaffirms its long-term commitment to the market and further expands its presence in the country.
The flights to the two new destinations are planned as seasonal routes, i.e. by September 11th and 12th.

Currently, Wizz Air offers 45 routes to 41 destinations in 17 countries from North Macedonia. In 2025, the airline operated over 10,000 flights to and from the country, carrying almost 2 million passengers, with a flight completion rate of 99.48% one of the highest in the industry.
The new routes from Skopje to Palermo and to Alghero represent a direct connection to two attractive Mediterranean destinations, known for their tourist offer, cultural heritage and economic importance.

Further evidence of TAV Macedonia’s consistent growth is shown by the latest statistics for January, which indicate an increase in the number of passengers and flights at both Macedonian airports.
Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport together served 289,584 passengers on 2,009 flights in the first month of the year. In percentage terms, this represents a 31% increase in passenger traffic and a 10% increase in flights compared to the same month in 2025.
With the current winter flights schedule, at Skopje International Airport a total of 15 airlines operate flights to 50 destinations, while at Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport, 3 airlines operate flights to 8 destinations.
With the start of the summer flights schedule, at the end of March, Skopje Airport will expand its route network for 2 more routes – to Budapest and Naples, while Ohrid Airport will have new route to Milan. In May, Austrian Airlines will start to fly from Ohrid to Vienna, and in June, Wizz Air will add two more routes to/from Ohrid Airport – Katowice and Wroclaw.
