TAV PROMOTES OHRID AIRPORT IN ALBANIA: DISCUSSIONS FOR INTRODUCTION OF A SHUTTLE BUS FOR PASSENGERS BETWEEN ELBASAN AND OHRID AIRPORT

TAV Macedonia, today in Elbasan, Albania, presented the opportunities for affordable travels from Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport and Skopje International Airport for the citizens of Albania, on a meeting with the local touristic agencies in this central Albanian city.

Additionally, to the promotion of Skopje and Ohrid airports’ route networks to the touristic agencies of Elbasan region, TAV Macedonia emphasized the importance of establishing a regular shuttle but service from Elbasan to Ohrid Airport, since an introduction of such a regular bus connection will truly put into the operation the proximity between the 2 cities, that are just 1,5 hour or 86 km car drive distance.

-Ohrid Airport is really close to Elbasan, just 1,5-hour car drive, and yet the two cities don’t have regular bus transportation connections. Albania and particularly Elbasan is in our catchment area with great potential for Ohrid Airport. Consequently, affordable air travel connections of Ohrid Airport and the geographical proximity of the two cities, can be utilized in full capacity, if we jointly put our efforts into achieving this goal. Therefore we are here today to inform the local touristic agencies and the Albanian public, about the benefits they’ll feel if they choose Ohrid Airport for their journeys, stated Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia Deputy General Manager for Operations, after the meeting with the local tour-operators, held in Elbasan, Albania.
