During the road shows, that took place in April in Oslo and Helsinki, TAV Macedonia Revenues and Marketing Development Director, Vladimir Gramatikov presented Macedonian airports potential, air connectivity and the tourism potential that our country can offer. These events were organized by the National Association for Inbound Tourism of Macedonia (NAITM) and supported by SIPPO (Swiss Import Promotion Programme) and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with the aim of strongly promoting the country as an attractive tourist destination.

"The Scandinavian market has significant growth potential. Our goal is to encourage the development of new direct regular year-round routes to key European destinations such as Copenhagen and Helsinki and to provide a stable and predictable environment for the already established routes. This road show is part of our strategy to open new opportunities for both our citizens and to bring foreign tourists in the country, by expanding our route network with direct flights to the main Scandinavian airports, says Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia General Manager.

NAITM says that although the Nordic markets are traditionally considered more difficult to conquer, this is precisely what makes them strategically extremely valuable because they are tourists with high purchasing power, clearly defined expectations and a strong focus on quality, sustainability and authentic experiences. According to them - they are not mass tourists, but travelers who carefully choose destinations, look for unique stories and are ready to invest in experiences that offer value.

The country's capital is already directly connected from Skopje International Airport with direct flights to Oslo, via Norwegian Air Shuttle and via Wizz Air to Oslo-Sandefjord, Malmo and Stockholm, as well as through charter flights by Freebird Airlines to Stockholm/Gothenburg and Copenhagen/ Billund.

Aside from the goal to expand its route network on the Scandinavian market, TAV Macedonia remains focused on connecting Skopje and Ohrid airports with major European airports with which there are currently no direct connections, such as Amsterdam and London Gatwick or Heathrow, and is working intensively on restoring connections with the Middle East, namely Doha and Dubai, to expand the airline network and strengthen the connectivity of the two Macedonian airports.
