Departures Guide for Skopje International Airport

Skopje International Airport (SKP), located about 17 km from the city center of the City of Skopje, is the primary international airport in North Macedonia.
It offers international flights with a variety of services for a comfortable travel experience.

Pre-Departure Preparation

  Check-In: Airlines typically
  recommend arriving at
  least 2 hours before
  your flight.







 

Online and/or web check-in is available for most airlines, allowing you to save time at the airport.
Travel Documents: Ensure you have all the required documents such as:
- Passport or ID card (depending on the destination)
- Visa (if required)
- Boarding pass (printed or digital)


Airport Facilities & Services 
Arrival at the Airport: The departure hall is located on the ground floor of the airport terminal,

   and the check-in counters
   are positioned opposite
   the entry/exit doors C and D.
   Follow the signs and the
   screens displaying flight
   info above the check-in
   counter to reach your flight’s
   check-in counter.

 


Banks, Currency Exchange & ATMs:

   Bank & Currency Exchange
   services are available in
   the airport terminal,
   and ATMs are located
   next to entry/exit door
   B of the airport.

   prior to passing
   the pre-boarding

 Check-In: Once you have checked in online, and if youare traveling only with
 hand baggage, you can proceed to the pre-boarding e-gates.
   
    If you have purchased a
    flight ticket with checked (hold)
    baggage, you can either
    go to the passengers and
    baggage check-in counter
    where you can drop off your baggage,





 

   or you can go to the
   self-service baggage
   drop-off kiosks*,
   which are located
   next to check-in
   counter number 19. 


 




Pre-Boarding E-Gates:
The pre-boarding e-gatesare located in the center of the airport terminal, next to the Information Desk,
opposite the landside Cakes & Bakes restaurant.

   
   To pass the pre-boarding e-gates,
   and to head to the customs control,
   passport control, and security check,
   you need to scan your valid boarding
   pass (printed or digital), which
   includes a barcode.

  and skip the queues at the
  passport control and
  security screening checkpoints, 


 



Customs Control: The Customs Administration is competent and responsible for carrying out customs control and all customs-related procedures. 


Passport Control: The Ministry of Interior Affairs is competent and responsible for carrying out border control, passport control, and all immigration-related procedures.
 

  Security Check:
  After you complete the
  passport control, proceed to the
  security screening checkpoint.
  Make sure your hand baggage
  complies with the airport security
  rules and please follow several
  simple steps when traveling by plane.


 

Departure Gates and Boarding

 
  Duty-Free Shopping
  Before heading to your gate,
  visit the duty-free stores
  for tax-free shopping,
  located between Gate next to Gate 203. 







Gate Information: Departure gates, 201 - 206 are located after security on the first floor in the airside departures area, while Gates 101 – 105 are located on the ground floor in the airside departures area. You can check your flight's gate number on the information screens throughout the departures area.

Boarding: Be sure to arrive at the boarding gate at least 45 minutes before your flight’s departure time. Boarding typically begins about 30-45 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Baggage 
Carry-On Allowance: Make sure your hand baggage complies with the airline’s size and weight restrictions.

Checked Baggage: If you have checked baggage, ensure it is properly tagged at check-in. Skopje International Airport has baggage claim facilities for arriving passengers, but for departures, your baggage will be routed directly to your flight.



   Taxi
   Taxis are available
   outside the terminal.







    Shuttle Bus
    There are also
    shuttle buses connecting
    Skopje International Airport
    to the center of the
    City of Skopje and
    other locations.





Parking:
If you are being dropped off or parking your car, the airport provides both short- and long-term parking options.  

   The main car park is located just 
   opposite the terminal building,  
   or across the transit zone and the

   Skopje International Airport offers
   a Primeclass VIP Service for
   premium passengers.
   For those flying with certain airlines
   or holding a lounge access card,
   you can relax in comfort before
   your flight in the
   Primeclass Lounge located
   next to the ATU Duty Free shop.
